MANNAM : Word has peace and touches people's heart : Mother Teresa

Peace begins with a smile
Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, born Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu (Albanian: [aˈɲɛs ˈɡɔɲdʒa bɔjaˈdʒiu]) and commonly known as Mother Teresa (26 August 1910 – 5 September 1997), was an ethnic Albanian, Indian Roman Catholic nun.

Mother Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic religious congregation, which in 2012 consisted of over 4,500 sisters and is active in 133 countries. They run hospices and homes for people with HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis; soup kitchens; children's and family counseling programmes; orphanages; and schools. Members of the order must adhere to the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience, and the fourth vow, to give "Wholehearted and Free service to the poorest of the poor".

She was the recipient of numerous honours including the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize. In late 2003, she was beatified, the third step toward possible sainthood, giving her the title "Blessed Teresa of Calcutta". A second miracle credited to Mother Teresa is required before she can be recognised as a saint by the Catholic Church. She was admired by many; in 1999, a poll of Americans ranked her first in Gallup's List of Most Widely Admired People of the 20th Century. However, she has also been accused of failing to provide medical care or painkillers, misusing charitable money, and maintaining positive relationships with dictators.

Smile

A smile is a facial expression formed by flexing the muscles near both ends of the mouth and by flexing muscles throughout the mouth. Some smiles include contraction of the muscles at the corner of the eyes (see 'Duchenne Smiling' below). Among humans, it is an expression denoting pleasure, sociability, happiness, or amusement, but can also be an involuntary expression of anxiety, in which case it is known as a grimace. Smiling is something that is understood by everyone despite culture, race, or religion; it is internationally known. Cross-cultural studies have shown that smiling is a means of communication throughout the world. But there are large differences between different cultures. A smile can also be spontaneous or artificial.:)

Smile - historical background

Many biologists think the smile originated as a sign of fear. Primalogist Signe Preuschoft traces the smile back over 30 million years of evolution to a "fear grin" stemming from monkeys and apes who often used barely clenched teeth to portray to predators that they were harmless. The smile may have evolved differently among species and especially among humans.
Biology is not the only academic discipline that interprets the smile. Those who study kinesics view the smile as an affect display. It can communicate feelings such as: love, happiness, pride, contempt, and embarrassment.

-There are tons of information about smile like cultural differences, sex appeal  on the internet. Whatever it says, SMILE :)

The Walk for Peace and Restoration with MANNAM and MYIC(4)

War

An absence of war is usually called peace.

There have been many many wars including a concept of religious wars.
Religion is an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to the supernatural, and to spirituality.
And a religious war (Latin: bellum sacrum) is a war caused by, or justified by, religious differences.
It can involve one state with an established religion against another state with a different religion or a different sect within the same religion, or a religiously motivated group attempting to spread its faith by violence, or to suppress another group because of its religious beliefs or practices.
The Muslim conquests, the Crusades, the Reconquista, and the French Wars of Religion are frequently cited historical examples.
(a bit from Wikipedia)

The Walk for Peace and Restoration was a truly meaningful event even when we approach it with a religious view.
The honorary chairman Man Hee Lee is a Christian leader individually, there was a variety of different religious or non-religious people though(which is supposed to be).
Indeed it was ONE.

Monks(They aren't Korean, I personally assume they are from Thai) are walking for world peace.

One of international youth organizations' representatives is getting a flower to put in his suit pocket.

Cool to see these people in a full traditional clothing in the hot whether.

Beautiful traditional costume she is wearing and smiling!
People are all different so they are beautiful as who they are.
There isn't any better culture than others.

When I was young I was thinking monks, priests, nuns and other religious people do not laugh, do not go to toilet but communicate with some invisible  beings with very serious look.

LOL.
I realized that they can even have funny hats to listen well to young leaders of international organizations'.
For World Peace, indeed:)

My friends,
People are, the earth is moving actually to have PEACE.
Do you feel it?;)

The center one has a dove which has a meaning of Peace.
Do you know how this bird has the meaning of peace? It's from the bible, the story of Noah's ark.

As I posted before, a rose of Sharon is a national flower of Republic of Korea and the language of this flower is 'eternity'.
Look at these hands holding the roses of Sharon.
All the different skin colors.
Each of hands have the flowers together.
This placard has many and deep.

A Republic of Korea's mother language is Korean, Han-guel and the 1st foreign language is English.
Easy to fine signs in English for tourists(It could be hard to speak Eng to local people, though).
A very few portion population of South,Korea can speak the third world languages.

MIYC(MANNAM International Youth Coalition) 10km in their shoes

As I posted about it, there was a walking event for peace "Pledge of Peace" on 21st, April,2013 in Seoul Grand Park.
The event's title was 10km in their shoes, it's young people from all over the world walking 10km to show they long for world peace.
There were a giant number of people from all of the world, even though it was held in South,Korea which could be a small country but very hot potatoes under such tension with North Korea.

The idea has been started by one brilliant person but it has been actualized actually and will, must be invigorated throughout the world in near future.
This is a casual, easy, fun way to get involved in such a serious issue, world peace.
Let's go for a walk in order to act out for peace:)

Here is Kazakhstan's view of this peaceful and fun event.

Military Escalation in Korea, MANNAM,its the time to move further and higher!:)

North Korea sentences US citizen to 15 years' hard labour

Pae Jun-ho, known in the US as Kenneth Bae
North Korea says it has sentenced a US citizen to 15 years of hard labour.
The announcement, from state news agency KCNA, said Pae Jun-ho, known in the US as Kenneth Bae, was tried on 30 April.
He was held last year after entering North Korea as a tourist. Pyongyang said he was accused of anti-government crimes.
The move comes amid high tensions between North Korea and the US, after Pyongyang's third nuclear test.

North Korean media said last week that Mr Pae had admitted charges of crimes against North Korea, including attempting to overthrow the government.
"The Supreme Court sentenced him to 15 years of compulsory labour for this crime," KCNA said.
Mr Pae, 44, was arrested in November as he entered the northeastern port city of Rason, a special economic zone near North Korea's border with China.
He is believed to be a tour operator of Korean descent. The Associated Press news agency also reports that he is described by friends as a devout Christian.

South Korean activists say Mr Pae may have been arrested for taking photos of starving children in North Korea.
"We call on the DPRK [North Korea] to release Kenneth Bae immediately on humanitarian grounds," US State Department spokesman Patrick Ventrell said on Monday.
Diplomats from Sweden, which represents the US in North Korea in the absence of diplomatic ties, had been providing counsel to Mr Pae, reports said. The US State Department was working with the Swedish embassy to confirm the report of the sentencing, AP reported.

Nuclear tensions

North Korea has arrested several US citizens in recent years, including journalists and Christians accused of proselytism.
They were released after intervention from high-profile American figures, including former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, both of whom went to Pyongyang.

In 2009, Mr Clinton negotiated the release of two US journalists accused of entering North Korea illegally, Laura Ling and Euna Lee.
Held after North Korea's second nuclear test, both had been sentenced to 12 years of hard labour before they were released.
Observers suggest Pyongyang could be using the jailed American as leverage, amid a very tense situation on the Korean peninsula.

The UN expanded sanctions against the communist state in March, in the wake of its 12 February nuclear test and December long-range rocket launch.
Pyongyang reacted angrily both to the measures and annual US-South Korea military exercises which saw high-profile displays of US military hardware.
It threatened to attack US military bases around the region and cut key hotlines with South Korea.
It also withdrew its workers from the North-South joint industrial zone at Kaesong, and prevented South Korean workers from crossing the border into the zone.

US detainees in North Korea

Eddie Jun Yong-su: Businessman detained for six months in 2011, freed after a visit led by US envoy Robert King
Aijalon Mahli Gomes: Teacher and Christian jailed in 2010 for eight years over illegal entry via China - freed after Jimmy Carter visited Pyongyang
Robert Park: US activist crossed into North Korea via China in late 2009 - freed in 2010 by North Korea
Laura Ling/Euna Lee: Jailed in 2009 for 12 years over illegal entry via the Chinese border - freed after Bill Clinton met Kim Jong-il
US citizens held by N Korea
The North then rejected South Korea's call for talks, prompting Seoul to pull its staff out for the first time since the project was launched a decade ago.
A total of 125 South Koreans left the Kaesong complex on Saturday, and another 43 withdrew on Monday.
Only seven South Koreans remain at Kaesong, a complex just inside North Korea where more than 120 South Korean firms operate using North Korea workers.
Seoul says they are negotiating final wage payments and should be returning South soon.
The South Korean government has pledged 300bn won ($273m, £175m) in emergency loans for firms hit by the suspension at Kaesong.

This is from BBC News.

The US soldiers I see even in a small city in South Korea are burgeoning.
As you read it, most of the workers at Kaesong have had to leave for back home, South Korea.
I haven't been really worried of the tension in Korea peninsula, but I have to be honest, I am getting a bit nervous.
Everyday what I read is new today and this such situation seems to get more serious.
No War, truly!

On 21th, April, there was an peaceful event, 10K walk for peace in Seoul Grand Park, South Korea.
The host organization was MYIC(MANNAM Youth International Coalition) with MANNAM.
I was also a part of the peaceful movement with my friends who are from all over the world.
Cambodia, Iran, Kazakhstan, USA, Vietnam, Indonesia, Canada, Uzbekistan, Japan, Nepal, New Zealand and South Korea..
(I wish I had a North Korea friend!!)

We had tons of fun at zoo with lots of laughter and walked a bit for peace with pleasant talks and warm hearts for each other.
Indeed, we've longed for peace and liberty.

Desperate for peace with a real fear in South, Korea.
Friends who love PEACE, please work together for having peace, not letting it go....!

MANNAM & MIYC, Friends!

War is over when you want it!

I am so glad I speak English to be able to communicate with a great number of people from all over the world.

I am so happy to be able to be a part of MANNAM and MIYC easily, because their head offices are located in Seoul, Korea which takes not much to participate and volunteer(no worries for being on time anymore!).
Hand in hand, be good friends for each other, then world peace is already there.

If I was a good friend with North Korean governor, I would affect their next step.
It could be heard like childish, but It can be true though.
World can be simple but people in the world could make it complicated.

I want to be your friend, will you come to me?:)
