MANNAM: Peace in Action

The quote above made me think about how actively members of MANNAM pursue peace. They are the type that "make it happen." Whereas some people lie around and simply imagine a world with peace one day, MANNAM members get out and make it happen. From cooking events to cleaning projects, from soccer tournaments to serving the elderly, from cultural performances to walks for peace, MANNAM is all about actions for peace.

What inspires such an action orientation? The answer is simple. MANNAM's Chairman, Man Hee Lee.

Even though he is over 80 years old, Mr. Lee travels the would and rallies people for peace. Instead of proudly looking over all he has accomplished up to this point and relaxing, he presses forward. Instead of simply wanting peace to happen, instead of merely wishing peace would happen, Mr. Lee is making it happen. MANNAM members are inspired by this and strive to do the same.

G8 backs urgent Syria peace talks in Geneva

G8 leaders meeting in Northern Ireland have backed calls for Syrian peace talks to be held in Geneva "as soon as possible".

After adopting a statement, UK Prime Minister David Cameron said the leaders had managed "to overcome fundamental differences".

But no timetable for the Geneva talks was given.

The statement does not mention what role Syrian President Bashar al-Assad could play in the future.

Russia is backing President Assad, while the US and its European allies are supporting the rebels.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Kremlin insisted that each of the Syrian sides at the Geneva talks should be able to select their own delegations, sidestepping questions about whether this could leave open a role for Mr Assad.

The communique is largely a reaffirmation of what was said at the Geneva Conference in June 2012, reports the BBC's Jonathan Marcus at the summit in Enniskillen.

Sending signal
The G8 leaders agreed the joint statement on Syria after lengthy discussions at the end their two-day summit.

The seven-point document says that any future transitional government should be "formed by mutual consent".

It stresses that the leaders are united in wanting a negotiated and peaceful end to the conflict that will produce a government "under a top leadership that inspires public confidence."

However, both Russia and the West could interpret such phrasing as their diplomatic success at the summit, correspondents say.

The Kremlin refused to support any statement making Mr Assad's removal from power an explicit goal.

But speaking to reporters after the summit, President Putin said he did not feel "isolated" in Enniskillen despite clashing with other leaders.

At the same time, Mr Cameron pledged at a separate news conference "to learn the lessons from Iraq" by making sure key institutions of the state are maintained through any transition.

The prime minister said it was important to send a signal to the Syrian people that there would be a functioning state once Mr Assad was gone.

This could be seen as encouragement to the Assad supporters perhaps to begin thinking about a future without him, says our correspondent.

The joint statement also condemns "any use of chemical weapons in Syria" and urges both Damascus and the rebels at the Geneva conference "to commit to destroying and expelling from Syria all organisations and individuals affiliated to al-Qaeda and any other non-state actors linked to terrorism".

On the humanitarian front, the G8 leaders agreed to provide nearly $1.5bn (£960m) in new funds to help people affected by the raging conflict.

More than 4.25 million people have been displaced since the Syrian conflict began in March 2011.

More than 90,000 people have been killed, according to UN estimates.

In Enniskillen, the leaders also signed a declaration committing themselves to "fight the scourge of tax evasion" and promote free trade.

Vladimir Putin: Russia and US to draft Syria peace plan

Russia and the US will be responsible for drafting the "underlying principles" of a settlement to help end the Syrian crisis, the Russian president has confirmed.

Speaking at the end of the two-day summit in Northern Ireland, Vladimir Putin said some G8 members had agreed with the Russian position, that there was no proof that the ruling Assad regime had used chemical weapons, but that there were cases of opposition forces being caught with them.


The Russian president said that all evidence would be presented to the UN Security Council with Russia, as a permanent member, "actively assessing the situation".

Juanes: Grammy-award-winning musician talks peace with BBC

Grammy-award-winning Colombian musician Juanes is known for his passionate lyrics exploring themes of peace and love.

He has sold 16 million albums in his career, making him the world's top all Spanish-language rock artist.

Juanes has also become a global peace activist, inspired by his childhood in Medellin at the height of civil war. His foundation, Mi Sangre, promotes peace in Colombia by empowering youth affected by violence to become agents of change in their communities.

He is also a co-founder of Paz sin Fronteras, an organisation that uses music to promote peace. In 2008, when tensions rose between Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela, Juanes played a concert on the border between Colombia and Venezuela to call for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

He has been named one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World, and he received an award for distinguished humanitarian leadership from the Atlantic Council in Washington DC. Before the ceremony, Juanes sat down with the BBC's Katty Kay.

Spiritual and Political Leader

Indian nationalist leader Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, more commonly known as Mahatma Gandhi, was born on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar, Kathiawar, India. He studied law in London, England, but in 1893 went to South Africa, where he spent 20 years opposing discriminatory legislation against Indians. As a pioneer of Satyagraha, or resistance through mass non-violent civil disobedience, he became one of the major political and spiritual leaders of his time. Satyagraha remains one of the most potent philosophies in freedom struggles throughout the world today.

Fight for Indian Liberation

In 1914, Gandhi returned to India, where he supported the Home Rule movement, and became leader of the Indian National Congress, advocating a policy of non-violent non-co-operation to achieve independence. His goal was to help poor farmers and laborers protest oppressive taxation and discrimination. He struggled to alleviate poverty, liberate women and put an end to caste discrimination, with the ultimate objective being self-rule for India.

Following his civil disobedience campaign (1919-22), he was jailed for conspiracy (1922-24). In 1930, he led a landmark 320 km/200 mi march to the sea to collect salt in symbolic defiance of the government monopoly. On his release from prison (1931), he attended the London Round Table Conference on Indian constitutional reform. In 1946, he negotiated with the Cabinet Mission which recommended the new constitutional structure. After independence (1947), he tried to stop the Hindu-Muslim conflict in Bengal, a policy which led to his assassination in Delhi by Nathuram Godse, a Hindu fanatic.

Death and Legacy

Even after his death, Gandhi's commitment to non-violence and his belief in simple living--making his own clothes, eating a vegetarian diet, and using fasts for self-purification as well as a means of protest -- have been a beacon of hope for oppressed and marginalized people throughout the world.

In the tragic situation which confronts humanity, we feel that scientists should assemble in conference to appraise the perils that have arisen as a result of the development of weapons of mass destruction, and to discuss a resolution in the spirit of the appended draft.

We are speaking on this occasion, not as members of this or that nation, continent, or creed, but as human beings, members of the species Man, whose continued existence is in doubt. The world is full of conflicts; and, overshadowing all minor conflicts, the titanic struggle between Communism and anti Communism.

Almost everybody who is politically conscious has strong feelings about one or more of these issues; but we want you, if you can, to set aside such feelings and consider yourselves only as members of a biological species which has had a remarkable history, and whose disappearance none of us can desire.

We shall try to say no single word which should appeal to one group rather than another. All, equally, are in peril, and, if the peril is understood, there is hope that they may collectively avert it.

We have to learn to think in a new way. We have to learn to ask ourselves, not what steps can be taken to give military victory to whatever group we prefer, for there are no longer such steps; the question we have to ask ourselves is: what steps can be taken to prevent a military contest of which the issue must be disastrous to all parties?

The general public, and even many men in position of authority, have not realized what would be involved in a war with nuclear bombs. The general public still thinks in terms of obliteration of cities. It is understood that the new bombs are more powerful than the old, and that, while one A-bomb could obliterate Hiroshima, one H- bomb could obliterate the largest cities, such as London, New York and Moscow.

No doubt in an H-bomb war great cities would be obliterated. But this is one of the minor disasters that would have to be faced. If everybody in London, New York and Moscow were exterminated, the world might, in the course of a few centuries, recover from the blow. But we know, especially since the Bikini test, that nuclear bombs can gradually spread destruction over a very much wider area than had been supposed.

It is stated on very good authority that a bomb can now be manufactured which will be 2,500 times as powerful as that which destroyed Hiroshima. Such a bomb, if exploded near the ground or under water, sends radioactive particles into the upper air. They sink gradually and reach the surface of the earth in the form of a deadly dust or rain. It was this dust which infected the Japanese fishermen and their catch of fish.

No one knows how widely such lethal radioactive particles might be diffused, but the best authorities are unanimous in saying that a war with H-bombs might quite possibly put an end to the human race. It is feared that if many H-bombs are used there will be universal death—sudden only for a minority but for the majority a slow torture of disease and disintegration.

Many warnings have been uttered by eminent men of science and by authorities in military strategy. None of them will say that the worst results are certain. What they do say is that these results are possible, and no one- can be sure that they will not be realized. We have not yet found that the views of experts on this question depend in any degree upon their politics or prejudices. They depend only, so far as our researches have revealed, upon the extent of the particular expert's knowledge. We have found that the men who know most are the most gloomy.

Here, then, is the problem which we present to you, stark and dreadful and inescapable: shall we put an end to the human race; or shall mankind renounce war? People will not face this alternative because it is so difficult to abolish war.

The abolition of war will demand distasteful limitations of national sovereignty. But what perhaps impedes understanding of the situation more than anything else is that the term "mankind" feels vague and abstract. People scarcely realize in imagination that the danger is to themselves and their children and their grandchildren, and not only to a dimly apprehended humanity. They can scarcely bring themselves to grasp that they, individually, and those whom they love are in imminent danger of perishing agonizingly. And so they hope that perhaps war may be allowed to continue provided modern weapons are prohibited.

This hope is illusory. Whatever agreements not to use H-bombs had been reached in time of peace, they would no longer be considered binding in time of war, and both sides would set to work to manufacture H-bombs as soon as war broke out, for, if one' side manufactured the bombs and the other did not, the side that manufactured them would inevitably be victorious.

Although an agreement to renounce nuclear weapons as part of a general reduction of armaments would not afford an ultimate solution, it would serve certain important purposes. First: any agreement between East and West is to the good insofar as it tends to diminish tension. Second: the abolition of thermo-nuclear weapons, if each side believed that the other had carried it out sincerely, would lessen the fear of a sudden attack in the style of Pearl Harbour, which at present keeps both sides in a state of nervous-apprehension. We should, therefore, welcome such an agreement, though only as a first step.

Most of us are not neutral in feeling, but as human beings, we have to remember that, if the issues between East and West are to be decided in any manner that can give any possible satisfaction to anybody, whether Communist or anti- Communist, whether Asian or European or American, whether White or Black, then these issues must not be decided by war. We should wish this to be understood, both in the East and in the West.

There lies before us, if we choose, continual progress in happiness, knowledge, and wisdom. Shall we, instead, choose death, because we cannot forget our quarrels? We appeal, as human beings, to human beings: remember your humanity, and forget the rest. If you can do so, the way lies open to a new Paradise; if you cannot, there lies before you the risk of universal death.

We invite this Congress, and through it the scientists of the world and the general public, to subscribe to the following resolution:

In view of the fact that in any future world war nuclear weapons will certainly be employed, and that such weapons threaten the continued existence of mankind, we urge the Governments of the world to realize, and to acknowledge publicly, that their purpose cannot be furthered by a world war, and we urge. them, consequently, to find peaceful means for the settlement of all matters of dispute between them.

Youth for Peace! 6.25 2013

Young people freely gathered and made loud voice "World Peace" in everywhere in Korea and overseas facing with the day 6.25 which is for commemorate the end of Korean War.

This year, 2013 is especially the 60th anniversary of the end of Korean War.

In the Korean War, many young people sacrificed their lives without any chance to bloom for saving their families and friends' lives and the country.

Since the war ended, South Korea has developed in a quick, and became a country who is telling "Peace" to the world.

It's still the only country divided which is more powerful to touch the people in the world by their voice for World Peace as real.

Especially young people from all over the world(Participants were international) haven't experienced the Korean war, the Cold war or any violent movement much but they tried to feel and understand how appreciate young people of the war's sacrifice and asked the world(leaders) to stop fighting each other and using the young to the war.

The core of today's walk was reading the declaration of world peace as a peace advocate Man Hee Lee read it on 25th, Man in Seoul Olympic Stadium.
This peace walk was taken place in around 100 differend places in the world.
The person concerned in Seoul baranch of International Peace Youth Walk said
"All of the international youth showed spontaneous participation for world peace and we became messengers of peace to fulfill world peace and end the war.
We will keep it up and every international youth should register this such a group for world peace and restoraion of light.
It is the only way to save the youth from war and fulfill world peace that presidents from all over the world should sign the International Law of end of war and world peace unless they don't love their nations and people."

All the participants made voice through various peace performance, the parade of flags of all nations and pickets with peace slogans.

The way to fulfill World Peace and Restoration of Light.

I've thought of something while The 6th World Peace Festical : Culture and Sports Celebration of Restoring Light was on.
There are many religions in the world.
And they've struggled together and become bitter enemies exclusively, don't you think so?

However, we don't.
As Jesus said in John chapter 1 "Anybody who believe in God is a son of God from Him".

So we hope to hug everybody to achieve World Peace regardless of religion, tribes.
All are God's creatures.

So, what shall we do?
We need to let people be born by hevenly culture to become renew-creature.
Then we can be ONE.

Mother Teresa had first been recognised by the Indian government more than a third of a century earlier when she was awarded the Padma Shri in 1962 and the Jawaharlal Nehru Award for International Understanding in 1969.
She continued to receive major Indian awards in subsequent years, including India's highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna, in 1980.
Her official biography was written by an Indian civil servant, Navin Chawla, and published in 1992.

On 28 August 2010, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of her birth, the government of India issued a special 5 Rupee coin, being the sum she first arrived in India with.
President Pratibha Patil said of Mother Teresa, "Clad in a white sari with a blue border, she and the sisters of Missionaries of Charity became a symbol of hope to many – the aged, the destitute, the unemployed, the diseased, the terminally ill, and those abandoned by their families.

Indian views on Mother Teresa were not uniformly favourable.
Her critic Aroup Chatterjee, who was born and raised in Calcutta but lived in London, reports that "she was not a significant entity in Calcutta in her lifetime".
Chatterjee blames Mother Teresa for promoting a negative image of Calcutta, exaggerating the work done by her Mission, and misusing the funds and privileges at her disposal.
Her presence and profile grated in parts of the Indian political world, as she often opposed the Hindu Right.
The Bharatiya Janata Party clashed with her over the Christian Dalits, but praised her in death, sending a representative to her funeral.
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad, on the other hand, opposed the government's decision to grant her a state funeral.
Its secretary Giriraj Kishore said that "her first duty was to the Church and social service was incidental" and accused her of favouring Christians and conducting "secret baptisms" of the dying.
But, in its front page tribute, the Indian fortnightly Frontline dismissed these charges as "patently false" and said that they had "made no impact on the public perception of her work, especially in Calcutta".
Although praising her "selfless caring", energy and bravery, the author of the tribute was critical of Mother Teresa's public campaigning against abortion and that she claimed to be non-political when doing so.

The leaders of MANNAM, Man Hee Lee and Nam Hee Kim visited Africa for world peace!

Man Hee Lee, the honorary chairman of MANNAM and Nam Hee Kim, the chairman of MANNAM had the trip 'East to West'. Here is how Man Hee Lee felt and what he got out of the trip.

The following is Man Hee Lee wrote about the trip.

Two million people of Nigeria invited us, and several hundred thousand people of Congo invited us and announced a seminar in advance through media, then they eagerly waited for this day. However, due to the circumstances of the country, the seminars were cancelled. We went to Ethiopia and South Africa. I met with the presidents of those two countries and formed brotherly ties with them, the two presidents promised to become members of MANNAM.

At the time when we greeted the President, we first showed the video of the highlights of the event on Sept. 16th, 2012, the World Peace Festival: Culture and Sports Celebration of Restoring Light, then we requested that they cooperate with and work for world peace.

The contents of the discussion were as follows. When it comes to war, it is not the presidents, ministers, or legislators who go to fight. It is the young men who go to fight and die. How will this regrettable death be compensated for? We requested cooperation for our work of petitioning for the ‘ending war and for world peace and the restoration of light,’ and to have it turned into an international law, this is something they would do if they truly loved peace, their country and their people. They agreed to and signed the petition. The two presidents pledged to cooperate and participate with our country to work for the Reunification, and for world peace and the restoration of light. The broadcast announcing this content echoed throughout the global community.

We visited the Ethiopian veterans who fought in the Korean War, delivering, gifts and compensation funds. We appeared in 8 broadcasting programs. The word seminar and meeting were held in South Africa. The word seminar was held at the City hall in the ‘mother city’ of Cape town, and the pastor meeting was held at the national assembly. I met with a pastor who had 350,000 (three hundred and fifty thousand) church members, and a pastor with 40 million church members. They promised they would participate in the work of ‘world peace and restoration of light,’ and will work together in the future. There were a couple more invitations from presidents of other countries, but I postponed the visits until January.

Such a meeting for peace, Aung San Suu Kyi and Man Hee Lee

Aung San Suu Kyi, leader of the opposition National League for Democracy in Myanmar, had a significant meeting with Man Hee Lee, the honorary chairman of MANNAM in Gwang-ju, South,Korea.

On 30th, Jan in 2013, Aung San Suu Kyi arrived at Gwang-ju airport at 7pm and moved directly to Holiday-in Hotel and had a meeting with the honorary chairman, Man Hee Lee with warm welcoming. Especially both are such peace leaders for the whole world.

Aung San Suu Kyi has been detained in custody for 10 of the past 16 years whereas she holds to peaceful struggle with no violence. She won in 1991, was under house arrest and prohibited from traveling to Norway to accept her Prize. Finally she could give an acceptance speech in 21 years after many years of detention, release, house arrest.

Gwang-ju Human Rights award chose her while she was under house arrest. She couldn't visit South Korea for the prize either.

She got free from the house arrest in 2010, she visited Gwang-ju to confer an honorary citizenship of Gwang-ju and won a medal of Gwang-ju Human Rights hosted by Gwang-ju city and 5.18 the Commemorative Foundation.

Man Hee Lee, the honorary chairman of MANNAM has met leaders of Europe, the Americas, Africa for the long-cherished desire of world peace and restoration of light. The leaders who met Man Hee Lee, have empathized with his idea for world peace and promised to join the team to cooperated in harmony.

Man Hee Lee is the honorary chairman of MANNAM Volunteer Association.

He is the anchor of MANNAM Volunteer Association.

Those two representatives held another citizens’ festival to commemorate the 65th Korean Independence Day held August 14-August 15, 2010 at Seoul Olympics Peace Plaza. This event called the Festival of World Peace, Restoration of Light, and Victory, took place in front of the Peace Gate with about 200,000 spectators and several ambassadors from different countries.

This event, still considered as the flower of culture, has been something unprecedented until now. The large-scale palm-printed flag was put up high in the sky again on that day, and a laser show was performed on the background of this flag in the night sky of the event. The laser show portrayed how one person, who became a light, was added unto another light. The motto of the event was also displayed on the flag by the laser, which said, “When light meets light, there is victory.”

The chairman, Lee Man Hee, represented 33 people from various walks of life, and read aloud the declaration from the Korean Unification Monument. It seemed like the sky was going to explode by the hopeful shouts of the spectators. The Korean Unification Declaration Monuments are now standing both at the Goseong Unification Observatory, east frontlines [Korean border], and at the west frontlines, Imjingak.

Furthermore, Mannam hosted another festival to commemorate the 60th Korean War on June 26, 2010, at Sejong Cultural Center, Seoul. Korean War veterans and ambassadors from 60 Korean War participating and supporting countries were invited to cherish the memory of the deceased souls. As part of the preliminary events ahead of the actual commemoration, Mannam volunteers toured 21 locations at which the Korean War Memorial Monuments are situated including the UN Memorial Park in Busan.

The volunteers paid a silent tribute to the former war veterans. At the same time roughly 14,400 elementary school students from 17 different regions in South Korea participated in printing their thumbs to make national flags of the Korean War participating countries. These thumb-printed flags were presented to the ambassadors who were in attendance of the event.

On the day of the event, the ambassadors from 21 countries partook of creating a special bronze sculpture by agreeing to print their hands on it. The sculpture contains the determination from those ambassadors that they oppose warfare and desire to keep peace within this world. It is now being kept in the Yongsan War Memorial Museum, Seoul.

The participants also took part in creating a time capsule during the event. The time capsule contains the messages from the Korean War veterans, the messages of gratitude from the citizens, and the message that pictures the Korea that will have gained peace 10 years later, and so forth. This capsule is scheduled to be opened 10 years later in 2020.

The honorary chairman, Man Hee Lee and the representative, Kim Nam Hee have bound the globe as one and created Mannam International that surpasses borders, races, religions, and societies. They are leading the way of the volunteers worldwide. Who could possibly accuse them of wrongdoing unless insane?

In September 2012, the title of this event  is “The 6th World Peace Restoration of Light Culture and Sports Festival.” It was held in Jamsil Olympic Main Stadium, Seoul. In fact, the gate of the stadium was closed for the last 24 years until last year this festival was held. Twelve flames of fire rose to the sky on the day of the festival, and the 200,000 spectators stored the flames in their eyes and hearts. As all the participants were united as one, the festival was truly a joyous event for both people and for the spirits.

More than any physical battles that kill people’s flesh, spiritual conflicts within religious organizations where people insult and label others as heretics are much cruel. Unlike those existing conflicts, the World Peace Festival truly showed the possibility of peace and the restoration of light. It was a place of unity where everyone held hands together, rising above the walls that used to separate them before.

this is what he did in MANNAM last year, 2012.

The event was just so new and different from other peace event or festivals.

The contents, people and everything was so new and that was so real peace.

There were many news jounalists and reporters from all the world and they got so impressed and have been asking the leaders of MANNAM(the chairman, Nam Hee Kim and the honorary chairman, Man Hee Lee) to come to their countries and have interviews.

Furthermore, they have been coming to South,Korea to see them for world peace.

Man Hee Lee is the honorary chairman of MANNAM Volunteer Association.

He is the anchor of MANNAM Volunteer Association.

The honorary chairman of MANNAM, Lee Man Hee, was a Korean War veteran, who fought in the frontlines. Having been deeply deplored over the tragedy of the fratricidal war and the death of the citizens of his own, the chairman Lee refuses to take any money that the Korean government provides monthly for former war veterans. He is a peace activist who loves his own nation and citizens, and who vigorously runs in effort to bring peaceful unification to the Korean peninsula.

While watching the tragedy of the fratricidal war, Lee made up his mind before his dying comrades that he would accomplish world peace and restore the lost light for his own country and citizens.

Why, why, and why did young men around the world have to die? For whom did they have to die? The sacrifice of their lives is greater than the universe. The wish of the deceased souls was surely the world peace and the restoration of light. Their wish must have been to live in a world without war and without death. Everyone living in this globe is the same family that surpasses national borders, races, or religions. Why do we have to fight against one another? Why do people have to kill others’ lives that are granted by the light, rain, and the air from heaven?

The honorary chairman of MANNAM, Lee was the first person who led the Korean New Town Movement in his hometown, Cheongdo. By having met the behind-the-scenes volunteer, Kim Nam Hee, the Mannam representative, the chairman Lee has expanded Mannam Volunteer Association not only nationwide but worldwide as well.

Furthermore, these two representatives hosted a commemorative event for the 54th Korean Memorial Day on June 6, 2009 (otherwise referred to as the First Citizens’ Festival for the Love of their Country, Love for Taeguk, Love for Moogunghwa). This festival was hosted on the road in front of the COEX Mall, Seoul, South Korea. The national flags of the 16 Korean War participating countries were made into 625 kites, and the two leaders let these kites float in the Seoul sky and prayed for the rest of the UN war veterans and the deceased souls. The two leaders determined their minds not to let the sacrifice of the veterans go in vain. In order to cherish the memory of the deceased souls, they made a large-scale Korean palm-printed flag (60 by 40 meters), which required the participation from 17,337 people--including students from elementary, middle, and high schools, and universities; citizens, soldiers, international residents, and more. This large-scale flag was put up, and the memory of the deceased souls was cherished by many Korean citizens. As Korea’s largest palm-printed flag, it has been registered in the Korean Book of Guinness, and it has been kept in the National Cemetery, Seoul.

Through the 6th World Peace Restoration of Light Culture and Sports festival, the eyes and the ears of people, who have watched the event, have been opened. This festival has opened up their eyes and ears because it portrayed the culture of heaven where the spirit of heaven dwelt. Victory, joy, unity, and the flowers of love have bloomed widely, and the flames of peace have risen high.

The footsteps of world peace and the restoration of light have begun humbly, but prosperous will the end be! The seed of the light of life has been planted, and it will bear its fruit. Light has met with another light, and they will become a greater light. World peace will be accomplished, and light will be restored as everyone is united through love. All things will respond to the culture of the pioneers, who bring world peace and restore the light.

The representative of the Mannam Volunteer Association, Ms. Kim, has been watching the honorary chairman closely. There is a statement the representative Kim has been proclaiming during each and every festival she hosted. She has spoken several times in public how the honorary chairman, Lee, Man Hee, was someone that the Republic of Korea as well as the whole world absolutely needs, and that everybody should at least meet him once in their life time. 

During one of the opening speeches for the World Peace Festival, the representative Kim confidently assured everyone that the 6th World Peace Festival would surely let everyone understand why the honorary chairman, Lee, Man Hee, was an essential person to all mankind. If you were one of the spectators of the event on that day, you will know the answer to her statement. 

International participants around the world didn’t leave their seats from morning till late night. Shouts from the participants never stopped for a second. People’s hearts and thoughts were united throughout the event. This is the answer to her statement. The honorary chairman Lee is the embodiment of the true light, life and love, and he continues working to bring peace and to restore the light to the world. He is someone that all mankind should at least meet once in order to accomplish world peace.

Lee, Man Hee, a descendant of the Korean royal family, who was sent from heaven as the light of love — Who is he?

Born to a poor peasant family on September 15, 1931, he was given a name meaning light. Why was he given such a name? Before his birth, his grandfather saw in a dream the ray of a strong light separating the dark sky and descending upon the mother of his grandson. Having had this extraordinary dream, his grandfather decided to name his grandson “light” before birth.

Lee, Man Hee, was a Korean War veteran, who fought in the front lines. This is what Manhee Lee, the honorary chairman of MANNAM volunteer association has talked about a bit of world peace.

And what I'd like to emphasize is he even mentioned of the restoration of light.

He does know how to put words together.

He doesn't flatter with beautiful skill to use words together.

He puts his heart while he speaks.

People easily say "world peace" but not with doing.

People could be just waiting for something happen by outside factors, but I should be the first step to reach out world peace and peace should happen in myself first!

MANNAM volunteer association is full of those kinds of people who want to do something first, not just wait for somebody else to do.

I am so proud of being a part of this such cool gathering.

We live all together :)

Hi folks!
I am glad we have met each other via this blog (dosen't matter I only talk, you don't write any comments, still you can think about my idea for a bit, which I want to call ,a bit of communication).

I should be honest with you guys, I didn't really know about what has happened to the world, REALLY.
I was a kind of hearing some news like 911, Gulf war...something very obvious.
I can say I was absolutely ignorant of the world(OH MY!).

Though I could have a chance to see the different side of the world from what I had known.
I started to visit BBC News website and got shocked by a large number of tragedies such as natural disasters, terrors and etc.
I still remember the time I was talking about world peace with one of my friends who is from USA, he never imagines world can have peace.
I was sad but had not much to give back him, something special could affect his opinion about it.

But MANNAM.
Indeed I have been learning how world peace has been achieved by beautiful people.
Through MANNAM, I've slightly got connected with all the international people as friends.
I started to get exposed to a variety of new ideas, events, culture, history and etc.
MANNAM has affected me so much with such positive energy, so I don't think world peace won't be happening which many people have a view like this.

Let's give it a try.
A person is a bit but 2 people can communicate.
More people can really change the world.

The cornerstone of MIYC

When it comes to war, it is not the presidents, ministers, or legislators who go to fight. 

It is the young men who go to fight and die. 

How will this regrettable death be compensated for? 

We requested cooperation for our work of petitioning for the ‘ending war and for world peace and the restoration of light,’ and to have it turned into an international law, this is something they would do if they truly loved peace, their country and their people. 

They agreed to and signed the petition. 

The two presidents pledged to cooperate and participate with our country to work for the Reunification, and for world peace and the restoration of light. 

The broadcast announcing this content echoed throughout the global community.

We visited the Ethiopian veterans who fought in the Korean War, delivering, gifts and compensation funds.

We appeared in 8 broadcasting programs. 

The word seminar and meeting were held in South Africa. 

The word seminar was held at the City hall in the ‘mother city’ of Cape town, and the pastor meeting was held at the national assembly. 

I met with a pastor who had 350,000 (three hundred and fifty thousand) church members, and a pastor with 40 million church members. 

They promised they would participate in the work of ‘world peace and restoration of light,’ and will work together in the future. 

There were a couple more invitations from presidents of other countries, but I postponed the visits until January.
